In addition to melting, polar icecaps could also lead to an increase in the level of the ocean. Thus people might lose their homes, and cities like New Orleans might be completely submerged. Some parts of the world might become hotter. Hot weather doesn’t mean that people feel uncomfortable, but means a huge increase in the use of air conditioning which uses energy, creates pollution and costs money. Some parts of the world might become much drier. For example, many parts of Africa have suffered from severe droughts. Other parts of the world might become wetter. Thus, too much rain in some regions will destroy crops traditionally grown there, and lead to hunger. How to deal with "greenhouse effect"?
