答案E First of all we’d like to know something about you, Candidate A, so I’m going to ask you some questions. E Do you like watching TV? Why or why not? A Yes, I like watching TV very much. Above all it’s a good way to relax after work or study. It’s a convenient and cheap source of entertainment. With a TV set, people do not have to go to the cinema and pay for the expensive seats. Every evening I watch a bit TV to relax. Secondly, television keeps people informed about the world’s latest news and current development in science and technology. We can watch matches that are held in places far away. For example, I’m very interested in football. I want to watch football matches especially the world cup football match, but I can’t go there. So I watch them on TV. It is a good way to solve the problem of not being able to go there. Thirdly, television is also a convenient and cheap source of gaining knowledge. There are many educational programs of one kind or another offered by television. For example I often watch the spoken English programs to improve my spoken English. E Which programs do you like best? Why? A My favorite program is the network news. The network news has several points that are worth mentioning as far as its contents and features are concerned. Firstly, it covers news about important events both at home and abroad. Secondly, the news it provides is timely and reliable. Finally, broadcast in the evening during the so-called "golden time", the network news program reaches a wide range of viewers. As for me, I like this program chiefly for two reasons. One is that it keeps me informed of what’s happening in a country and the world as a whole, which is essential to a college student. The other reason is that, since the news covers a comprehensive area and is fairly brief, it saves me much time reading through newspapers for current affairs. Generally speaking, watching the network news on CCTV has become part of my daily life. E What do you think of the English programs offered by CCTV? A I think the English programs offered by CCTV are very good. I often watch the English news. It can both allow me to follow the latest developments in many aspects and develop my listening ability of English. On the weekend, there are several English programs I like very much such as "Visit to Canada with Dashan". With Dashan, I can learn English and the customs of Canada. I hope CCTV can offer us more English programs, because sometimes I have no time to watch English programs. E How do you like the programs offered by your local TV station? A I think the programs offered by local TV station have their own local characters, though the programs are not as colourful as those of CCTV. I like watching their programs very much. For example, from the local network news, I can know many things happening in my hometown. Maybe these things are not great events, but it’s very interesting. Besides, I can acquaint myself with my hometown. If my friends come to my hometown on a trip, I will be very pleased to be their chapterone. E Thank you. Now we’d like to know something about you, Candidate B, so I’m going to ask you some questions. E Do you like sports? What do you think of the sports programs on TV? B I like sports. Swimming and tennis are my favorite sports, and I swim well. I can do almost all kinds of swimming, such as breast stroke, back stroke, butterfly stroke and so on. Sport is a good way to relax. I think the sports programs on TV are abundant. There are several sport news programs everyday, by which we can follow the latest development of sports. If there are some important matches, the TV stations will broadcast them. We just need to turn on the TV set and sit on the sofa with popcorn in our hand. Besides, TV also shows exercise programs. We can follow it to get some exercise. E What do you think of the TV serials? Name one or two that you like most. B Now the quality of TV serials is much better, and the amount of TV serials is much larger than that of before. The TV serials can be divided into several kinds, such as detective serials, life serials, humorous serious and so on. Some of them are very interesting and attractive, while others are too long, too slowly paced and boring. There are many TV serials I like very much. One of them is "Xiao Bao and Kang Xi"; it’s a historical serial. The language is very humorous and lively, and the roles are all very lovely. Another one of them is "Long Vacation", which is a serial made by Japanese. E Do you watch educational programs on TV? (If yes) Name one or two. (If not) Why not? B Yes, I often watch educational programs on TV, such as English programs and scientific programs. Through educational programs I can learn very much. For example, I can improve my spoken English and listening ability by watching English programs. Scientific program such as Discovery is my favorite program. In Discovery, there are many topics, some are about old and mysterious Egypt, some are about outer space. I’m very interested in them. E What’s your general impression of the TV programs offered by CCTV? B I think the programs offered by CCTV are abundant. There are about twelve CCTV channels. Each channel is in charge of one aspect such as agriculture, education, art, and so on. I often watch the education channel which offers some good English programs. Besides, the programs are very informative. You can know many things about many aspects. But I don’t think the programs offered by CCTV are interesting; it’s not a good TV station for entertainment. For example, most of the TV serials broadcasted on CCTV are on politics such as corruption and the liberation war of China. Children are not interested in them.
