问题 The interview — about 2 minutes
In this part the interlocutor asks questions to each of the candidates in turn. You have to give information about yourself and express personal opinions.
1. Now many of the traditional houses are getting rarer and rarer. Why is this the case?
2. Do you think this is a good or bad thing?
3. How do you think traditional architecture and homes can be protected?
4. What do you suggest be done about it?
1. Because we are seeing an increase of modern houses and apartments. They are getting taller each day. It all boils down to the fact that we’re seeing a development of the city and everything seems to give way to the giant skyscrapers.
2. Well, it is a good thing only if the old traditional buildings are preserved. Sometimes it is not necessary to give way to the new buildings if we can see the value in the old buildings.
3. I think the old traditional architectural building can blend in well with the new buildings and be protected to let people know their importance. There should be laws and regulations to stipulate that old housing with traditional values should be protected and upgraded to maintain their distinctive features.
4. I think there should be a public campaign that promotes a health lifestyle and preferential treatment by the authorities.
